How it began
Brenda and Kirk Petrunick returned to their St. Catharines roots with a dream to start a new life. After spending years in the ‘tick-tock’ world of business and corporate life, they were ready for an idyllic, simplified lifestyle. One in which they could raise their young son, Jack.
The goal was to live with intention and follow their bliss. Simply, they were seeking the path that led them to wake up everyday and live passionately and creatively. To that end, Brenda and Kirk would soon identify a need in the local, home decor market. With their goal to provide inspiration, direction and resources to people seeking to execute their personal decor style, Simply White was born.
While the self-described aesthetic of Simply White is casual-elegance, there is a notable infusion of Canadian made products into their decor repertoire, blending perfectly with the Chic Cottage and Muskoka styles they have become known for.
Their downtown location is renowned for its regularly rotating and always stunning window displays where the latest design trends are presented as eye candy for passersby. Brenda’s innate sense of style and balance alongside her eye for colour and finishes proves invaluable to the loyal clientele of this unique shop.
Shortly after relocating, Brenda and Kirk successfully recruited the multi-faceted talents Taylor Rumble, an up and coming designer that has made his mark on the signature style of Simply White. Bringing fresh ideas to every project, Taylor is known for his attention to detail and uncompromising commitment to great, livable design. Taylor is able to combine different styles with a young but sophisticated perspective that elevates his work to the next level. His natural ability to create an unexpected colour story with a cohesive collection of fabrics and finishes for any luxurious surrounding marries well with the preferred products of the curated collection at Simply White.
