Interior Inspiration: Get Sunny for Spring

Estimated Reading Time: 3 Minutes

Spring is the perfect time to give your home a fresh look and one of my favourite ways to wash away winter in my home is to add a splash of colour. With so many colour trends emerging this spring, I wanted to share some of my favourite colour palettes.

Today, here are some interior inspirations to get sunny for spring with happy and bright yellows!

Why Yellow?

Yellow is a high-energy hue that sings, “Let the sun shine in,” and with so many different shades, there are ways to brighten any space, big or small with happy home decor.

Fun floors

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — one of the easiest ways to change up the space is to look underfoot. Consider changing out your old area rug for something brilliant and bright, like this area rug from Dash & Albert.

With a unique geometric diamond print on a golden sun background, this elegant tufted and carved wool rug makes a bold statement in the master bedroom, dining room, or living room.

Do it yourself

If you’re more of a DIY’er, take an old piece of furniture and brighten it up with an intense yellow. I highly recommend going with Chalk Paint™ decorative paints by Annie Sloan (coming to Simply White this spring!) — I’m especially loving this English Yellow giving this little French rococo style side table a contemporary look.

This clean yellow was particularly popular in English 18th Century decoration inspired by hand painted Chinese wallpaper and the development of Chrome Yellow pigment.

Brighten your bedroom

Another favourite way to add new hues to a home is to brighten your bedroom. No need to paint or make major changes, just find the perfect new duvet with some soft yellow like the Harmonie collection from Brunelli.

Harmonie by Brunelli is a pretty, nature inspired design in a buttery off-white color with dandelion accents in yellow and green. This lovely bedding pattern is sure to brighten the mood of any bedroom in your home.
